AMY DOVER IS AN ARTIST AND ILLUSTRATOR BASED IN THE UNITED KINGDOM WITH A FOCUS ON THE RELATIONSHIP AND PERCEPTIONS OF HUMANS AND NON-HUMAN ANIMALS. THROUGH HIGHLY DETAILED DRAWINGS SHE TOYS WITH ALLEGORICAL NARRATIVES AND SURREAL MOMENTS TO CHALLENGE THE VIEWERS PERCEPTIONS OF THE CREATURES WITHIN THEM.

 

SHE HAS RECENTLY BEEN CREATING WORK ON THE HUMAN IMPACT  ON ENDANGERED SPECIES AND THE 6TH MASS EXTINCTION, AND HOPES TO RAISE THIS AS A CRITICAL CONCERN.  WORKING WITH CHARITABLE ORGANISATIONS AND UNIVERSITIES, DOVER HAS TRAVELLED THE WORLD WITH HER SKETCHBOOK AND CAMERA TO TELL THE STORIES OF ANIMALS.

 

AMY DOVER ALSO WORKS AS A FREELANCE ILLUSTRATOR AND HAS WORKED FOR SUCH CLIENTS AS WORLD ANIMAL PROTECTION, M&S, THE ROYAL BALLET, REDBULL, BARBOUR, PEARLFISHER, TARGET AND GARDINER RICHARDSON.

 

ORIGINALLY FROM DURHAM SHE IS CURRENTLY BASED IN NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE AND GATESHEAD. SHE WORKS AS A SENIOR LECTURER AT TEESSIDE UNIVERSITY AND  HAS JUST COMPLETED A MASTERS AT EDINBURGH COLLEGE OF ART AT EDINBURGH UNIVERSITY.
